Buffalo Marathonm & Half Marathon
Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Five Fast Trackers shuffled off to Buffalo . . .

... And what a shuffle it was:

* four hotel reservations in two countries for 3 of us

* it took 3 restaurants before we found one on pre race night with
pasta, that was open, and where the entrees weren't over $40

* a post race shuffle off to Niagara Falls and over the border to view a
spectacular sight of rainbows, swift currents, and a 75,000 gallons per second
drop of water

Oh yeah ... The race ...

Our marathoners (Keith Straw, Marissa Crocco, and Tom Chaves) enjoyed a
two loop run that was scenic at times of Lake Erie, the Buffalo Zoo, and some
parks.

The first half was also the half marathon loop that saw Jen Erickson run and
Terry Chaves walk in some industrial areas that weren't too exciting.

The water stops needed some improvement and it proved not to be walker friendly.

The city of Buffalo is kind of quiet on the weekends although there was some
'entertainment' going on real late.

No mention of the race at all in the local papers and announcements at the hotel
apologized for the closure of roads due to the marathon.

One final saving grace ... Tom and Terry enjoyed Buffalo wings at THE ORIGINAL
location where it all began ... The Anchor Bar

Happy Memorial Day to all and thanks to those and/or have family who have served
or are serving in our armed forces ... We are grateful ...
